Officers and partner agencies in Huddersfield North rely on information from you, the residents in the neighbourhoods, to tell us what is affecting you and the quality of your life. This information is vital to help us to help keep the community safe and crime at low levels.

There is a small proportion of the population who thrive on crime and making others’ lives a misery. These low-lifes also thrive on the fear that they engender amongst the community, because they know or believe that people are reluctant to report their activities to the police or other service providers for fear of repercussions.  We understand this reluctance, but unless you tell us, we can’t help you! Hudds North NPT and their partners are determined to break away the barriers which are letting these people get away with ruining your lives.

We have witness support measures and will do what we can to make the process of getting these people prosecuted as painless as possible. If you can stand up and be counted, it will send a real message to criminal and antisocial individuals and families that their antics will not be tolerated.

However, we do recognise that there are real reasons why you may be reluctant to get involved. That doesn’t always mean these people will get away with it however. If you have any information about people committing crime in your neighbourhood, then make sure we know about it.

The Crimestoppers number is completely confidential. If you don’t want to, you don’t have to give your name and you may qualify for a reward. The number to ring is 0800 555 111 or visit http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/ Please remember that Crimestoppers want to know about ALL TYPES OF CRIME, not just the serious stuff.

If you know who is dealing drugs on your street, or who is breaking into your neighbours’ house, buying stolen goods or even causing damage and nuisance in your area, give Crimestoppers a ring.  Use the chance to empower yourselves to stamp out crime in your neighbourhood.

It’s not “grassing”, it’s standing up to a very small minority of criminals who thrive on your fears.
